“The challenge we have in all of this is any industrial activity has a certain amount of risk associated with it,” said Dave Collyer, president of CAPP. “So the job that we’ve all got is to find a way to mitigate that risk and make sure that we drive that risk down to as low a level as we reasonably can.” …  “As we contemplated (the practices), we knew that there was a range of maturity in terms of the jurisdictions with respect to the regulatory environment,” said David Pryce, association vice-president of operations. … Disclosure of fracturing components already is required by the Alberta regulator, but accessing the in-formation is a complicated process, said Bob Curren, with the Energy Resources Conservation Board. Producers have to submit the composition of fracturing fluids used during drilling within 30 days of completing a well, but are not mandated to submit the data in electronic format, he explained.
