Canada urgently needs a clear policy to protect the nation’s water resources from privatization, pollution and the creeping demands of the United States, a leading activist told an Ottawa conference Saturday. “Water needs to be regarded as a fundamental human right and not as a commodity,” said international trade lawyer Steven Shrybman.
