Roozen said Tuesday that after the expense report was scrutinized following the Herald FOIP request, Eagle reimbursed the $617.35 bill. Energy Minister Ken Hughes, the former AHS board chairman who signed off on the expense, apologized in an Aug. 14 letter to Roozen, saying he shouldn’t have approved the bill. Scott Henning of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation said he was pleased Eagle paid back the money – but said it shouldn’t have taken a freedom of information request to prompt the move.
