Policies must be changed

Policies must be changed July 31, 2007, The Edmonton Journal
That the Alberta government has been able to use the board as a buffer against their lenient and close stand with industry is well noted. … At no time should the industry be allowed to make direct payment to the tribunal responsible for their behaviour. Also, the practice of allowing the board to collect the funding for industry advocates should be discontinued immediately. If the province wants the public to recognize the EUB as a neutral, quasi-judicial body, then the government must find a way of funding and taking ownership of this tribunal. The next thing needed is a definition of “the public good” that encompasses the interests of all Albertans. There are many examples of the board’s bias.
