Resolution drafted by The Eagle, June 26, 2011
By November, Rocky View County wants to have a resolution drafted on oil and gas development to present to the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC) convention in Edmonton. On July 19, the county discussed how it would like oil companies to increase their notification area when drilling wells, which is currently for residents within 200 metres of the proposed site. It was the result of complaints from a number of Springbank residents who found out six wells are planned in their rural residential/acreage area.
