Appearances would suggest that our justice system in Canada uses a very very different set of rules than our American neighbours in coming to a fair amount due a industry member for fouling the drinking water of Saskatchewan folks and killing aquatic life in the productive North Saskatchewan river system!! Although the North Saskatchewan spill was many many times longer than Enbridge’s Kalamazoo River spill in the U.S.- our fine for Husky was not 0ne Tenth of what Enbridge had to pay for fouling the Kalamazoo River—Why? I am a great believer that our laws should somehow be equal to the crimes committed!! In this case either Enbridge was over charged or Husky has a golden horseshoe for paying next to nothing comparatively??

The reason this is important is simply because our Alberta Premier who many have already condemned as a criminal– should face fraud charges for election fines– that other Canadians have served prison terms for?? Is our justice system fair if as Dean Del-Mastro points out —our Alberta Premier is treated different than Dean or indeed Michael Sona who got 9 month in the Can?? What Really Is Justice??

Not only was the bitumen so very much larger- it also affected almost all of Northern Saskatchewan- thru the complete carelessness of Husky Petroleum’s who have yet to face any charges- for their part in this environmental disaster??
